How long will winter last? You’ll have to ask the Groundhog this Friday, Feb. 2nd at Ellison Bay’s Groundhog Day Parade! The parade starts at 4pm, with participants gathering at Nicolet Bank at 3:15pm – dress up with your pet, decorate your vehicle, build a float – creative participation encouraged, spectators also welcome! After the parade, head to the Mink River Basin for the “Groundhog” Stew/Chili Dinner!
Feb. 2-4, 2018 Fish Creek Winter Festival
Get ready for the 31st Annual Fish Creek Winter Festival, featuring outdoor games, the Fruit Loop Fun Run, tasty eats, a Chili Cook-Off, and live music, including the Stumpf Fiddle Contest – all wrapping up with a fantastic fireworks display over the frozen waters of Green Bay. The fun starts Friday at Hands On Art Studio with Adult Art Night (21+) and a performance by “Cat’s Pajamas Vocal Band” at the Door Community Auditorium.
Beginning at 10am on Saturday, Feb. 3rd the Gibraltar Historical Society presents “All Things Chocolate” at the Old Town Hall – a tasty excursion, you won’t want to miss, and stop up at the Peninsula School of Art for their SOUP event! Spend some time around the heated Main Tent for games, events, contests throughout the day, and even a special performance by BEER BELLY IDOLS.
Dress for the weather and warm up at the heated Main Tent often! Enjoy FREE Trolley Rides through town so your toes don’t get too cold, and to save some energy for the Candlelight Ski/Hike at Peninsula State Park.
