June wraps up in Door County with the first weekend of the Renaissance Faire and Olde Ellison Bay Days with the Uncork Summer Festival featuring food, fun, live music and more! Book your last minute room this weekend and start your summer right!
Olde Ellison Bay Days kicks off its 49th year with the Viking Grill’s Fish Boil from 4-8pm on Thursday, June25th. On Friday head to the Community Park for an Ice Cream Social from 5-8pm with a real Barbershop Quartet! Saturday will feature the Grande Parade along Hwy 42 at 11am, and a Fine Arts and Crafts Fair will be held from 10am-5pm. Starting at noon on Saturday enjoy a host of activities for the family including games, sing-a-longs, Water Golf, Kidd-O-lympics, and the Happy Schnapps Combo polka band in the Park. On the grounds at Wickman House from 10-5pm you can enjoy $5 small plates from local restaurants and eateries including Door County Creamery, The Fireside Restaurant, Mission Grille, Shoreline Restaurant, Wickman House, and many more!
Live music with Small Forest (Jeanne Kuhns, Marybeth Mattson, & Pat Palmer) and Katie Dahl – both with brand new CDs to offer – starts at 11am. Free parking and a shuttle service to and from Uncork Summer and Olde Ellison Bay Days on Saturday is available from the Liberty Grove Historical Society on Hwy 42 south. From 5-10pm gather at The Mink River Basin for the annual Street Dance with live music by Hunga Dunga Trio and Papa Rick’s Chicks! Sunday brings the Firefighters Pancake Breakfast, the much anticipated 2nd annual Best Minster Dog Show from 11:30am-2pm, and at 2pm more live music with Big Mouth and the Power Tool Horns! The Door County Renaissance Faire invites you to return to a simpler time – take in this exciting marketplace atmosphere featuring tons of entertainment, edutainment, food, fun and more! From belly dancing, magic shows, storytelling, variety shows, and live music, to Knighting Ceremonies and weapons demonstrations, a Maypole Dance, and the Royals Promenade, this is a weekend of fun for the whole family! Period garb is welcome but not necessary to enjoy the Faire. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for youth and seniors, and Free for 5 Years Old and under. Active or Retired Military also receive Free Admission with proper identification to verify status.
