Jacksonport’s Cherry Fest Saturday Aug 7 from 9am-4pm
The quaint lakeside town of Jacksonport is hosting its 16th Annual Cherry Festival on Saturday August 7th. Door County is so well known for it’s cherries and we love to celebrate them. Bring the whole family out for a great day! The festival will be held at Lakeside Park, which is also Jacksonport’s public beach so make sure to bring your suits and take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of Lake Michigan.
Schedule of Events:
9am-4pm- The Bakery Booth will be open, offering everything from cherry sundaes to home-made cherry pie. The Jacksonport Women’s Club will be serving made to order funnels cakes. Door County Cherry Pie Filling and assorted jams will be available for purchase with proceeds going to JHS.
Juried Arts & Crafts Fair offers something for everyone with many talented vendors from all over the Midwest bringing their best work to our small town.
Historical Review Booth- Take a step back in time to when Jacksonport was a booming agricultural town. Memorabilia from the town’s historic families will be on display all day long.
Pioneer Living Pre 1840’s allows you to see what life was like with live demonstrations of blacksmithing, fire starting, cooking and leather work done by Joe Jeanquart & Randy Alexander at the Erskine Rest Area across the street from Lakeside Park.
9am-10:30am- Birch Creek Ambassadors Jazz ensemble
10am-12pm- Sandy De Master offering demonstrations the art of spinning wool
10am- Lunch Booth Opens with a menu consisting of cherry hamburgers & cherry brats provided by Door County Custom Meats
11am-3pm- Mayberry Carriage Rides, departing from Lakeside Park
11am-1:30pm- Music by Matt Wahl, popular folk music
12:30pm- Registration for the Penny Hunt on the beach
1pm- Penny Hunt for ages 3-5 and 6-9
2pm-4pm- Mike Miller Band performing classic hits from Sinatra to Aretha
