August 2-6, 2017 Door County Fair
This week, August 2–6, 2017, is the Door County Fair! Get you ready for stock car races, a demolition derby, tractor pulls, BMX Demos, lots of rides, kids’ activities and entertainment, live music, and more! The Midway opens and the rides begin at 4pm on Wednesday and continue from noon to 11pm Thursday through Sunday and until 8pm on Sunday. A variety of bands will be performing throughout the fair, including Dan Doty and Road Trip, Modern Day Drifters, the Vic Ferrari Band, and more!
The Fair returns this year with a new pricing structure starting at just $5 per day for full admittance to the Fairgrounds including rides, events, music, midway and entertainment; or get your Door County Fair Booster Button, just $15, which covers all 5 days of the fair (limited supply, get them before they’re gone!). August 5, 2017 23rd Annual Cherry Fest in Jacksonport
Jacksonport’s annual Cherry Fest features a fantastic arts & crafts fair bringing in vendors from all over the state and surrounding areas, as well as live music and kids events throughout the day! Enjoy refreshments and all things cherry including Cherry Pie with ice cream, Cherry Sundaes and Kolaches, Cherry Brats and burgers, and of course, lots of fresh cherries as well as preserves of all kinds from jams and jellies to pie fillings, relishes, and more! The 4th Annual Car Show will be held across the street at the Root Cellar Location where you’ll also be able to view historical collections from the Jacksonport Historical Society. Door County’s annual Maritime Week salutes the U.S. Coast Guard August 5-12, 2017. The festivities begin with the Salute to the Coast Guard Picnic at Sawyer Park on Saturday, Aug. 5th at 11am – ALL active, reserve, retired, and veteran Coast Guard personnel and their families are welcome! Stay for the week and gather in good company for the Monday night Mariner Award Dinner, the Tuesday Adopt-a-Soldier Door County Fundraiser, and the Wednesday night Concert in the Park with Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns; Thursday brings Sail Races, and bring the family for a free movie on Friday night.
