Baileys Harbor debuts it’s brand new festival this weekend! A change from the the previously named Spring Fling celebration, the Blessing of the Fleet Festival on May 21-22 highlights the Maritime history and culture of this harbor town. The Door County Scottie Rally’s Parade of Scots kicks off the festivities, followed by a traditional Blessing Ceremony over CB Radio to all vessels wishing to receive it. Then head into town to enjoy live music, arts & crafts, food & drinks and activities, and take tours of local sport and commercial fishing boats at the Town Marina. Saturday night dine deliciously with a community-wide culinary event called Lake to Table: A Taste of Baileys Harbor featuring a unique locally sourced whitefish entrée at various restaurants throughout town, and on Sunday morning stop at the Town Hall for the weekly Farmer’s Market from 9am-2pm, and take something tasty home with you!
This weekend also offers a great reason to head to Door County North – the Ellison Bay Arts Spring Art Crawl is going on May 21 and 22. Area studios, galleries and shops will open their doors and feature demonstrations, sales, and refreshments as you explore!
