Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin welcomes “Deer Widows,” Packer fans, and Santa Claus this weekend during the annual Christmas by the Bay celebration! The festivities get started this Friday evening with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7pm, and from 6-8pm you can also hop a free wagon ride and listen to live music. With two chances to meet Santa this weekend, make sure the kids get their Christmas lists ready!

Saturday morning, bundle up, grab a hot drink, and watch the Holiday Parade down 3rd Avenue where the shops will be decked out and ready for you to get in some holiday shopping with great gift ideas, open houses, and extended hours. Wave as Santa passes, then visit the jolly old fellow and his reindeer from 11am-3pm at the Door County Historical Museum, free wagon and trolley will also be available, and you can enjoy live music with Josh Gregory, Hervy Hodges, and Nick Hoover from noon to 2pm.

Register ahead to participate in the Inn at Cedar Crossing’s Holiday Cookie Decorating Class from 2-3:30pm Saturday, and leave with your own decorated sugar cookies, recipes, and basic decorating materials – fee is $10, call 920.743.4200. to sign up. On Sunday morning head to Stone Harbor Resort for Breakfast with Santa from 9:30-11am (reservations recommended: 920.746.0700).

The Door County Maritime Museum’s Merry-Time Festival of Trees also starts this weekend – check out their family-friendly activities and take in the beautifully decorated trees featuring special surprises sponsored by local businesses. Admission is free for kids with a donation to the Cana Island restoration project, and visitors are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win their favorite tree! (Drawing will be during the Merry-Time Festival of Trees raffle on December 9.)

Stone Harbor Resort will also be hosting their annual Deer Widow’s Weekend on Nov. 21-22, 2014, perfect for those left behind by the deer hunters in their family! Get your laughs in Friday night with comedian Sonya White, and dance it off to live music by The Cougars! Saturday offers the 11th annual Stop and Shop all day in the Harbor Ballroom, followed by more live music with Men in Suites accompanied by ladies drink specials. Sunday is Funday at Stone Harbor – catch the noon game as the Green Bay Packers take on the Vikings. Drink specials, complimentary snacks, prizes, and even a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar will keep the fun going – the party starts at 11am!

Sunday, November 23rd, the Knights of Columbus are having their Annual Packer Tailgate Party at the Sister Bay Bowl, to benefit Feed My People. The Doors open at 10:30am, $10 at the door includes all you can eat: Viking Restaurant Chili, Waseda Farm Burgers Brats and more. There will be Raffles and a Silent Auction too!

Sunday is also Baileys Harbor‘s Winter Farmer’s Market from 10am-2pm in the town hall.
