The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate our Nation’s Independence with family and friends.Why not spend it cooling off in Door County? Take in a small town parade, eat amazing foods, get sun burnt and cool off in the crystal clear waters. Later on that night, watch the fireworks explode over the water at several locations throughout the peninsula.
No matter where you find yourself, you’ll be happy because Door County is the best place to reconnect with friends and family over a holiday weekend.
Baileys Harbor has quite a day planned for Independence Day. The Parade starts at 10am, but there’s plenty to do throughout the day. Take a stroll through the Arts & Crafts area, play with the kids in the Kid Zone, browse the Food Court, or listen to Three Beers ‘Til Dubuque sing the afternoon away. Door County Trolley will be doing free downtown trolley rides and from 1:30 to 5pm there will be a free Restaurant Crawl to the local bars and restaurants. The Fireworks will start at dark so get there early to get your seat.
Egg Harbor’s Independence Day festivities start the day before with Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns performing until the fireworks are shot off at 9pm. On the 4th, they host the second parade of the day so if your crew is full of late movers, the 1:30pm start is perfect for you. After the Parade, the UW Madison Marching Band will be performing and 6 Figures band performs from 2-5pm.
Sturgeon Bay is having a cook out and ice cream social at Sunset Park before the fireworks go off at dusk.
Gills Rock’s celebration begins at 5pm with food and live music by The Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble. There will be a boat regatta beginning at 7:15 and fireworks at dusk.
Fish Creek celebrates on Saturday, July 6 at Clark Park. There will be great food, activities, live music by Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns, a Venetian Boat Parade at 9pm and fireworks at 10pm.
